“GLORIOUS, I WON’T GIVE IN, I WON’T GIVE IN TILL I’M VICTORIOUS, AND I WILL DEFEND, I WILL DEFEND”

Bobby Roode opens the show

The crowd sings along to the music as Bobby Roode makes his way down to the ring.

In Ring Segment- Bobby Roode

Roode gets a microphone, and asserts that for the second year in a row, he made Wrestlemania weekend simply GLORIOUS. Roode says for the second year in a row he made WrestleMania week simply glorious. He single-handedly sold out the Amway Center. 15 thousand people were there because of him. He gave those 15 thousand people a treat. They got to witness him snuff out the last little flickering star that was in NXT. He gave the fans the treat of a lifetime, and during that night he snuffed out the last flickering star of the old NXT. He proved once again that the fate and the future of this brand is in his control. The transformation of Bobby Roode’s NXT and his Glorious Era was finally complete.

That is, until last week when he had to sit at home and watch Shinsuke Nakamura walk into MY ring. Every NXT Superstar walked down and gave him applause, and you all sang his song and clapped…the crowd starts singing Nakamura’s theme to affirm this, as he points out we didn’t see him, the champ, standing there. Why wasn’t he there? Because he wasn’t gonna stand there and listen to the crap coming out of Shinsuke’s mouth. He didn’t leave NXT…at Takeover, I defeated him for the second consecutive time and retain my NXT Championship, and beat him so bad he had no choice but to leave! It made him sick to listen to the crowd cheer for Shinsuke when Roode is the champ. None of you people deserve to be in my NXT, none of the people in the back belong in my NXT. From here on out, you can either jump on board and be a part of Bobby Roode’s NXT, or you can hit the bricks just like Shinsuke Nakamura did!

Hideo Itami’s music hits as he makes his way down tot he ring. The crowd chants his name as Itami stares Roode down. Roode taunts him, stepping forward…and takes a slap to the face by Itami as a result! The crowd chants “ONE MORE TIME” as Bobby is angry, setting his title and jacket down and rolling up his sleeves. Bobby yells at Itami, and ends up walking right into a GTS! Itami stands tall over the champion as we get a replay of what just happened. Itami picks up the NXT Championship, looking at it before dropping it, leaving the ring and walking up the ramp.

Back from break, officials are checking on Bobby Roode in the ring as we get another replay of the slap from Hideo Itami followed by the GTS. Roode stumbles around the ring as the crowd chants “Bobby are you okay?” Roode is finally getting back to his feet, looking more than a little annoyed and confused.

More back and forth. Roode avoids a Kinshasa and takes out the knee. Roode focuses on the knee now. Nakamura keeps trying to get a comeback going but Roode keeps working on the knee. Nakamura catches Roode out of nowhere for a submission but Roode fights him. Nakamura keeps trying for the submission. Nakamura gets the armbar applied before it’s broken. Nakamura finally gets some offense in on Roode now. Roode turns it around but Nakamura nails him with kicks. Roode counters and drops Nakamura over his knees for a close 2 count. Lots more back and forth and close calls.

Roode avoids a Kinshasa by going to the floor. They come back in and Roode nails the Glorious DDT for a close 2 count. More dueling chants from the crowd. Roode ends up going to ringside and grabbing the timekeeper’s bell. He brings it in as referee Drake Wuertz warns him. Drake takes the bell from Roode. Roode walks into a shot from Nakamura. Nakamura hits the exploder. Nakamura charges with the Kinshasa but Roode catches him in a spinebuster for another really close 2 count. Fans chant “this is awesome” now. They continue to go at it and trade close calls. Nakamura hit knees to the face at one point instead of the Kinshasa. Roode kicked out at 2. The finish saw Roode hit a big Glorious DDT out of the corner for the win.

Winner: Bobby Roode

After the bell, Roode takes is title and celebrates in the corner. We go to replays as Nakamura recovers. We come back to Roode raising the NXT Title on the stage. He yells about how this is his NXT and we should learn to love it. Takeover goes off the air.

Roode now has Ohno on the ropes before sending him into the corner again with some more strikes. Roode sends Ohno flying into the other corner before he brings him down hard, and climbs to the second rope. Kassius starts to turn things around, but Roode responds with a knee drop for a nearfall. We go to Bobby Roode via satellite in Toronto. Bobby cuts off Tom and tells him to shut up. He says he heard what Ohno had to say. From day one, he said he would class up NXT and take it to the next level. As his NXT takes shape, Ohno comes in and has to put his stink on everything. Roode says he has a responsibility to mold NXT into his vision. He is going to shape NXT as he sees it. Would you rather have your champion look like him or a long haired dirty hippie from the 70s like Kassius Ohno. The future is on his shoulders and he will be damned if someone like Kassius Ohno is going to ruin that.

Roode vows to retain his title next week and he will walk into Takeover on Wrestlemania weekend as the champion. Bobby says he will continue to make this brand Glorious. Roode tells the cameramen to get out of his house.

Through all of his travels. 40 states and 20 countries. Whatever he wanted, he reached out and took it. The last time he was here . . . he has some unfinished business. Bobby has what Ohno wants and needs. The NXT Championship.

Roode laughs and cries, saying that is a touching story. That is a heartwrenching and sad story. Bobby wonders if that is his real name. Bobby says you are looking at a fighting champion and as far as he is concerned, we don’t have to wait. He can put this title on the line, right here, right now.

In Ring Segment: NXT Champion Bobby Roode

Roode says he defeated a man who spent the last 10 years running rough shot over Japan before coming to NXT. Shinsuke Nakamura has defeated everyone NXT has to offer… except Bobby Roode. Nakamura even hit the Kinshasa and still couldn’t get the job done. Holding the NXT title over Nakamura was the single greatest moment in NXT. Why? Because now the NXT Universe has a real champion. Roode walks, talks, and looks like a champion. Roode is THE champion. It is no longer “we are NXT”. It is now, Roode’s NXT. NXT is now simply going to be, GLORIOUS!
